Fitness Tip: Post-exercise nutrition

The Memorial Hospital

Once you have completed your exercise regimen, it is very important to include a post-exercise snack or meal. It is recommended to consume protein-rich foods, because they help your muscles recover.

It doesn’t matter whether you are drinking a protein shake or eating a hard-boiled egg, because your muscles don’t care where the protein comes from. A dosage of only about 10 to 20 grams of protein is needed in order to help in muscles recover from exercise.

And, always remember to rehydrate as well, after your exercise session.
